Anzu Tonkatsu Tonkatsu; deep fried breaded pork. Anzu Tonkatsu is supposed to be a cut above the rest; which is why they were one of the few selected for Isetan Bukit Bintang's Level 4 eatery. So they say. Originating from Fukuoka, their pork marination process is 7-days long, to provide a tender texture. Shrimp and Pork Loin Set (RM50) There were many variations; including Hot Pot Tonkatsu! Which is the first I've seen - where they actually serve your tonkatsu in a broth that comes in a hot pot. I suppose it's one of their signatures here, but we didn't give it a try. How do you go from deep frying pork to putting it into a broth? It gets all soggy! I frequent Tonkatsu by Ma Maison a lot; and I love their pork fillets. But I've got to hand it to Anzu Tonkatsu for their incredibly light batter and their roasted sesame - the latter really made the difference.
