The Dessert Workshop @ SS2

Chalkboard Menu with a rather extensive dessert selection.

S was craving for Lin Chee Kang at night, and if there's one place I know that serves Lin Chee Kang at night would be SS2! So off we went to SS2 - but S wasn't feeling the whole 'Wai Sek Kai' (the stretch of food court in SS2) vibe, so we drove around looking for an alternative.

Cozy place seats a maximum of 14 pax at one time

It was either KTZ Food (which I've never tried despite living in PJ for all these donkey years) or The Dessert Workshop. We gotta say; we were pretty impressed by the menu at The Dessert Workshop! They have both Oriental and Western desserts, both hot and cold, drinks, and some light bites. Befitting of their name 'The Dessert Workshop' - though it always worries me how would the business owner finish selling a specific dessert if he has such broad menu items.

Having worked in F&B in a management's position myself, there would definitely be slow moving items on any given menu. Oh well, let's not get carried away now!

Chinese Hawthorn with Honey Dates and Apples - RM7.90

S boils Honey Dates for me from time to time, so this tasted quite familiar. Only, with the addition of the apple makes the dessert a little sour-ish due to the acidity of the apple.

Chilled Mango Pomelo Sago - RM9.90

This was a win, it is the kind of dessert that would bring you satisfaction after a meal. Of course, I'm saying this from a perspective of not disliking mango products in the first place. 'Mango' may not be my favourite, but this was really well made. It looks like it's solid, but actually it's in a liquid state. Really enjoyable!

Overall, I'd say this is a decent place to have your dessert fix. There will probably be some hits and misses here - like any other establishment, but S and I have yet to find one!
